Jeff and I bought our first house together in 2007. It had a pellet stove as it's primary heat source. We knew nothing about them then, but we've learned so much since then!
Our pellet stove is a Kozi 100 model. It is a free standing stove in our basement. We are considering adding an pellet stove insert to our main floor fireplace in the future as well.
We really like the safety factor of a pellet stove. It shuts itself off it there is a chimney blockage, or if it gets to hot, or the pressure is wrong inside the burner. Hauling plastic (recyclable!) bags of pellets sure is a lot cleaner than hauling wood logs too!
Here is a sampling of the Pellet Stoves that are available on the market today. These one are all available for purchase on the internet - a huge bonus for those of us who live a remote lifestyle away from stores with large pellet stove selections!
